Problematic males often get a pass

People often criticize celebrities, with GOOD REASON. I don’t often talk about them because as far as Hollywood, and sports I don’t care enough, and don’t pay too much attention. That’s not to say I don’t like certain movies or actors, I just don’t pay too much attention to the hot gossip. I see stuff online, I get the trends, I see celebrities, I get what’s going on with how out of touch most of them are, but I normally don’t care enough to write a blog….

Until now because I see a pattern, perhaps it’s the tism, bear with me cause I am about to criticize a musician I’ve loved for years.

Jack White, I LOVE HIS MUSIC, I love his artistry, his swag, his love for where he came from but……

He is going through a divorce and his ex has filed a restraining order.

Jack is still well supported and unquestioned, and it’s not the first time this has happened, not his first restraining order.

What I’ve noticed is he is a lot more active on social media of late and to me it appears he is trying to soften his image. Posting more family and friends (personal photos) than I’ve ever seen him do previously.

I find many men, when women are calling them out, tend to do this softening of image by using even their children. It’s like a human shield, it’s harder to criticize a guy who’s just a dad, or just someone’s old buddy.

I don’t know everything. Maybe some crazy story about his ex will surface, I don’t know, but I do know men tend to be believed over women. People are quick to choose sides and it’s usually the man’s.

I hope that maybe I’m wrong….but I’ve seen men favoured from my own family, to my community, to politics, to world wide. Men are often covered while women are painted as the problem.
